Microsoft Teams – External Sharing has arrived!

Today went through some of the Teams features in preparation for my presentation at Auburn University. And I found that ~I got a lot of errors on the way. This was a sign that new pieces of functionality were on their way!

One of the most wanted features, External Sharing seems to have arrived!

I noticed that I was able to add my live account which was marked as Ext.

There seem to be some restriction on who you can share with as I didn’t manage to share with all external users.

It looks like known external users can be added to a team directly. Unknown guest users however can be added through Outlook only:

So I went to outlook and within my group I can add the external users:

Then afterwards within your team you can add: the group:

One small issue though:

As one of the users in my group already exist within the team I seem to be getting an error:

Then this morning when I tried it again:

So it took a day to get all updated but now it is really working!
