UI Flows shown in Power Automate

As this week is Microsoft Ignite there will be many new announcements on the way. This morning I already mentioned the new PowerAutomate name for Microsoft Flow.

UI Flows

One other major new feature that I just discovered is the UI Flows. It is still marked as Preview but it looks like something that could be a game changer.

People Familiar with RPA will really like this as you can now record steps and replay them as you want and need. Imagine all those boring repetitive steps you go through every day? Now we just need a flow to make your coffee in the morning! You make your coffee once and then for the rest of your life your coffees are made when you get to the office!

UI Flows in preview shown in the Power Automate screens

Note that you will need a CDS for UI Flows to work. If you don’t have a CDS you will see the following message:

Need a CDS for UI FLows

Once your CDS is in Place you can create your UI Flow

Create a UI Flow in Power Automate

There are two types of UI FLows

  • Desktop App
  • Web App

Desktop app vs Web App

I now selected the Web App option.

create a web app ui flow

And now you can start recording your steps.

As the recording of UI Flows is a worth another post please follow my blog as further posts will follow soon.
